Kyle Fletcher(c) vs. Willie Mack At FINAL BATTLE 2023, Aussie Open's Kyle Fletcher outlasted five other individuals to claim the vacant ROH World Television Champion, eliminating Bryan Kieth and Komander from Survival of the Fittest 2023 to earn the crown. Now Fletcher has set the goal for himself of becoming the longest reigning champion of all-time (Samoa Joe set the record at 574 days) with the most defenses (Jay Lethal notched 36 in his second reign), and in order to do either, he needs to get to work ASAP. Fully aware of that being the case, Fletcher laid out an Open Challenge and did not have to wait long to hear it answered! This Thursday, Fletcher's quest to be the greatest TV Champion of all-time begins on Honor Club when he faces perennial contender Willie Mack! Mack has been hungry for Ring of Honor Championship success since the day he first returned to ROH and faced Claudio Castagnoli on the ROH World Title's Proving Ground, but has yet to achieve that dream after fighting for the World Six-Man Title against The Mogul Embassy and the World TV Title against Samoa Joe. Now he looks to accomplish his goal with a rematch against Kyle Fletcher this Thursday; with their first fight going to Kyle back on HONOR CLUB #35, this is an opportunity for Willie Mack to both even the score and score his first ROH title. Leyla Hirsch & Rachael Ellering vs. Diamante & Mercedes Martinez For the last several months, Leyla Hirsch was courted by Maria Kanellis-Bennett to sign on under her brand with the selling point being that Maria would lead Leyla to success in her ROH career. Rachael Ellering got pulled into that as well, but the two women both learned quite quickly that Maria was looking for nothing more than the spotlight. So with Kanellis-Bennett now left by the wayside, Ellering and Hirsch look to move forward in their ROH careers with a focus on competition and racking up victories. Enter Diamante and Mercedes Martinez; together they are 2-1 in their tag team outings between AEW and ROH, including the Tornado Tag Team victory over Athena and Billie Starkz on HONOR CLUB 35. This past Wednesday night on DYNAMITE fans witnessed Maxwell Jacob Friedman lose the ROH World Tag Title to The Devil's Masked Men after opting to go solo against the unknown entities after Samoa Joe was apparently attacked. It became quite obvious after the bout ended that Joe was not as hurt as it seemed... So where does this leave the ROH World Tag Team Championship? Just who is behind the masks holding the gold? Hopefully that mystery will come to light along with The Devil's identity; in the meantime there's work to be done, including the crowning of the first-ever ROH Women's World Television Championship! The fate of the ROH World Title hinges on the outcome of the Continental Classic, but the ROH World TV Title has a home around the waist of Fletcher, and based on what he's said before, that seems to be where Ethan's sights are set. As for his opponent this week on Honor Club, Johnny TV seems to have his set on just being a general thorn in the side of Dalton Castle, going so far as to cost Castle the Survival of the Fittest at FINAL BATTLE '23, and apparently relishing in the misery he's caused the former ROH World Championship.  So while he needs to be wary of the repercussions for those actions, Johnny needs to be focused going on the task at hand when he steps into the fight with “All Ego” Ethan Page on Thursday. Page has never been more focused, meaning he's never been more deadly, and if Johnny TV isn't 100% zeroed in on this fight, he can kiss a victory goodbye before he even enters the ring! TRIOS MATCH... The Iron Savages (Bronson & Boulder) and Jacked Jameson vs. The Von Erichs (Marshall & Ross) and “Bounty Hunter” Bryan Keith FINAL BATTLE 2023 was a banner night for The Von Erichs and Bryan Keith; brothers Marshall and Ross scored a victory over The Outrunners during ZERO HOUR, and “The Bounty Hunter” Bryan Keith earned his way into the Survival of the Fittest 2023 bout with a win over Jack Cartwheel! While Keith was unable to parlay that into a ROH World Television Championship victory, he (and the Von Erichs) impressed AEW & ROH officials to the point that all three had big opportunities over the next week. Orange Cassidy offered “The Bounty Hunter” a shot at the AEW International Championship the next night on COLLISION while Ross and Marshall topped The Workhorsemen last week during ROH ON HONOR CLUB. Now those three men come together this week on Honor Club to face the challenge of Jacked Jameson and The Iron Savages! ROH Women's World Champion Athena vs. Maya World In one of the most unforgettable bouts of her amazing title reign, ROH Women's World Champion Athena defeated Billie Starkz last Friday night at FINAL BATTLE 2023! The former Minion-in-Training gave “The Fallen Goddess” everything she had, but ultimately Billie had to give up the fight and submit to her former leader. Well, how former is it when following the match, after some back-and-forth that seemed like it could come to blows, ended with Starkz and Athena embracing. What that will mean for the future of their relationship remains to be seen, but one thing we do know is that “The Fallen Goddess” will be in Proving Ground action this Thursday night on Honor Club! Can young Maya World, with just a year of experience under her belt, shock the world and be the first woman to survive Athena's Proving Ground? ONE-ON-ONE... Lee Johnson vs. Dante Martin Lee Johnson came into Survival of the Fittest with high hopes to become the new ROH World Television Champion, especially after beating former ROH Pure Champion Josh Woods to qualify for the elimination bout. Instead, “Big Shotty” found himself the first man eliminated just shy of nine minutes into the championship match. It was disappointing, that's for sure, but Lee Johnson is undaunted in his desire to achieve championship success, and perhaps he can now focus on going at Kyle Fletcher in a one-on-one bout after stringing together some victories. That starts this Thursday night on Honor Club when Johnson welcomes Dante Martin back to Ring of Honor, the Top Flight member's first ROH bout since that horrific injury at SUPERCARD OF HONOR 2023, and his first singles since beating Mike Bennett back at ROH ON HONOR CLUB 3! So as important as this bout is for Lee Johnson's desire to get himself into the TV Championship picture, it's just as important for Dante Martin to get reassert himself in the ROH landscape! Which young man will claim victory this Thursday night at WatchROH.com? TAG TEAM ACTION... AAA Cruiserweight Champion Komander & AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo vs. Jack Cartwheel & Gringo Loco While three of these men participated in FINAL BATTLE 2023, only one had a triumphant night, that being El Hijo del Vikingo as he successfully defended his AAA Mega Championship against Black Taurus, drawing him ever closer to breaking Kenny Omega's 765-day record holding that title. Komander, though he looked utterly superb as one of the last two men in the Survival of the Fittest Elimination bout, ultimately fell to Kyle Fletcher, watching the Aussie Open member become the new ROH World TV Champion. And speaking of SOTF, Jack Cartwheel had an opportunity to land the sixth, and final, spot in the Elimination Finals, but that slipped through his fingers as “Bounty Hunter” Bryan Keith topped Cartwheel in Keith's ROH debut. Gringo Loco was the only one of the four who was not part of the FINAL BATTLE 2023 festivities, though much like Cartwheel, he had an opportunity when he faced Komander in a SOTF Qualifier back in Chicago during ROH ON HONOR CLUB #40. Now these four men will meet in a tag team bout this Thursday night with the two AAA Champions uniting once again after experiencing great success in bouts against The Workhorsemen and the team of Christopher Daniels & Matt Sydal. Loco and Cartwheel are quite familiar with one another, both as partners and as foes, last teaming in July for GCW's CLEAN UP MAN event, so it will be quite interesting to see how that partnership plays out in their ROH debut as a team! On top of that, Vikingo has to keep in mind that this Friday on RAMPAGE he's set to battle Black Taurus in a FINAL BATTLE 2023 rematch; how will that effect the focus of the AAA Mega Champion in this tag team bout? Could that provide Cartwheel and Gringo Loco the opening they need to score a victory?
