Komander(c) vs. QT Marshall Three weeks ago QT Marshall stepped into the ring with ROH World Television Champion Komander for the very first time, and with Proving Ground rules in effect, all Marshall had to do was survive 10 minutes with the champion to earn his first-ever TV Title match. It seemed that Komander had the match won when he hit his Cielito Lindo maneuver on QT, but the wily competitor rolled to the floor in the few seconds it took the champion to recover from the impact and the time expired before Komander could get QT back in the ring. It was the first time in nearly six years that the World TV Champion fell short on the Proving Ground, so while QT Marshall accomplished step one by earning this championship match, can he take the next one and actually defeat the champion tonight on the 100th edition of ROH ON HONOR CLUB? ONE-ON-ONE... “The Wrestler” Katsuyori Shibata vs. Shane Taylor It's been nine months since the last time Katsuyori Shibata and Shane Taylor stood across from one another inside the squared circle, but all three of those matches in April 2024 were either in tag or trios situations. Taylor, Lee Moriarty, and Anthony Ogogo defeated Shibata, HOOK, and Chris Jericho on the April 10th DYNAMITE, Shiabata and Orange Cassidy evened that up with Taylor and Lee at the DYNASTY 2024: ZERO HOUR, and in their final bout Shibata teamed up with Daniel Garcia to best the STP pair of Taylor and Moriarty. Tonight however is a different story, this time it's one-on-one between “The Wrestler” and Shane T as STP aims to takeover Ring of Honor in 2025! The former ROH World TV Champion comes into this with victories in six of his last seven matches, but Shibata has been a dominant force in ROH competition since his return at SUPERCARD OF HONOR 2023. Not only is he the 4th longest reigning Pure Champion at 239 days, but he's also 20-2 in ROH competition, with 16 singles victories, and currently holding a 10-match win streak SINGLES MATCH... The Vendetta's Taya Valkyrie vs. Lady Frost It's been almost two years since the last time Taya Valkyrie and Lady Frost went one-on-one inside the squared circle. They've been on opposite sides of several trios and multi-woman matches here in Ring of Honor, but no singles encounters since that May 2023 DYNAMITE clash, and a whole lot has changed with Taya since that night in Las Vegas. Now aligned with “The Virtuosa” Deonna Purrazzo as The Vendetta, Taya has her sights set on taking out every woman who stands across from her in the ring, and Lady Frost is next on her hit list! Can Frost survive the fight with Taya and score her first victory since HONOR CLUB #81, or will this be a repeat of their Spring 2023 Sin City encounter? Tonight we will see ROH World Champion Chris Jericho in the House of Honor with “Bad Apple” Bryan Keith at his side but he won't be the only champion in the house! It may have taken the combined efforts of Jericho, “The Redwood” Big Bill, “Bad Apple” Bryan Keith, and the ROH World Title belt, but at least “The Nueve” left the Hammerstein Ballroom still the World Champion. At FINAL BATTLE 2024 Red Velvet escaped her ROH Women's World TV Title defense against Leyla Hirsch in large part thanks to a wrench she pulled out from under the ring. It was a dirty trick pulled straight from Hirsch's old playbook, literally the same way Hirsch defeated Red on the March 23, 2022 DYNAMITE, and clearly the defending champion never forgot no matter how much time had passed.  As can be heard in that video above, Leyla has regrets about how she conducted business then but it lends her a bit of understanding for how Red Velvet has chosen to operate as champion. That understanding doesn't mean Hirsch is going to let what happened at Hammerstein stand without repercussion, and it seems like the ROH Women's World TV Champion is amenable to a championship rematch but “on her time”, whenever that may be. In the mean time, while “Legit” Leyla Hirsch awaits another title fight, Red Velvet is stepping onto the Proving Ground for the third time since winning the title at DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR 2024. Will Red Velvet turn away another potential challenger tonight during ROH ON HONOR CLUB? TAG TEAM BOUT... Shane Taylor Promotions (ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty & Shane Taylor) vs. Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) While Shane Taylor Promotions may be riding high after last week's victory in an eight-man tag, tonight they have to come back to solid ground for what will undoubtedly be one of the toughest tag team fights they could take on. In this case, it's STP as represented by ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty and its figurehead Shane Taylor, and it's the latter of the two that adds a whole other level to this bout.  It was almost four years ago, during ROH WRESTLING #492 on 2/19/21, that Shane Taylor, Kaun, and Moses captured the ROH World Six-Man Titles from MexiSquad. The three men held those titles for a total of 295 days, the third-longest reign in ROH history, and are the winningest champions with 11 successful defenses during that time. That reign came to an end at FINAL BATTLE 2021: END OF AN ERA, but it was without Shane Taylor even involved as he took on a Fight Without Honor against Kenny King that night.  That means the last time Bishop Kaun and Shane Taylor stood on the same side of a fight was December 9, 2021 on the ROAD TO FINAL BATTLE 2021 and it wouldn't be until the 10/25/24 edition of RAMPAGE that they shared a ring again. That night it was on opposite sides of a Three-Way Tag with Undisputed Kingdom, with Matt Taven and Mike Bennett winning at Moriarty's expense, but tonight there will be no one else in the way. Tonight Shane Taylor and Bishop Kaun will meet on the battlefield once more, but will it be STP or GoA who walks away from this tag team battle with a victory? ONE-ON-ONE... STP's Trish Adora vs. Harley Cameron Back on HONOR CLUB #68 , in her debut bout for Ring of Honor, Harley Cameron scored a solid victory over Trish Adora and since then she's amassed a 3-2 record in ROH, most recently scoring a victory over Ashley Vox just last week. Adora, on the other hand, is 2-1 in ROH competition since that loss to Harley and has since aligned herself with Shane Taylor Promotions. That new attitude brought Trish to victory over Rachael Ellering a few weeks ago, and now she's looking for it to even the score with Harley Cameron tonight during HONOR CLUB! Will Adora's new-found aggression bring her a third consecutive victory, or will she feel the wrath of Harley as Cameron prepares to fight AEW Women's World Champion Mariah May on COLLISION? Blake Christian vs. Serpentico After a breakout night at FINAL BATTLE 2024 as one of the last two competitors in the ROH World TV Title Survival of the Fittest Elimination match, not to mention a shocking moment where he drilled Mark Davis in the groin to eliminate him, Blake Christian has found new life in his ROH career! After racking up a frustrating 9-18 record through December 20th, Blake took the feeling he got from FB '24 and parlayed that into victory over AR Fox on HONOR CLUB #96: BOXING DAY BRAWL! It's a new year for Ring of Honor as we enter ROH's 23rd year of presenting some of the best professional wrestling on the planet! Red Velvet(c) vs. HANAKO At FINAL BATTLE 2024 Red Velvet successfully turned away the championship challenge of “Legit” Leyla Hirsch but hers wasn't the only triumph that night. Stardom's HANAKO made her ROH debut during the ZERO HOUR with a victory over Harley Cameron! Just 24 years old, HANAKO made her pro wrestling debut in the fall of 2022 before arriving in Stardom at their March 2023 pay-per-view entitled NEW BLOOD PREMIUM. It wasn't long before HANAKO crossed the paths of Mina Shirakawa and Mariah May in tag team action, and though she fought her heart out every single event, it took four months for HANAKO to score her first victory in STARDOM, a trios bout at the MIDSUMMER CHAMPIONS 2023 PPV. A few weeks later she had the opportunity to team with Mina and Mariah for trios action, and slowly began to build herself up within the promotion. Several one-on-one bouts with Mina showed the Stardom faithful what HANAKO brought to the table, and in January 2024 she actually joined Mina's unit that became known as Empress Nexus Venus and that proved the catalyst for her career moving forward, best illustrated by she and Maika making it to the finals of Stardom's GODDESS OF STARDOM Tag League finals on December 8th, and HANAKO winning the New Blood Tag Titles with Waka Tsukiyama on December 26th! So with that momentum HANAKO heads into this huge championship opportunity tonight during ROH ON HONOR CLUB against the equally red-hot Red Velvet! Red hasn't lost a one-on-one match since an April 13th title fight with ROH Women's World Champion Athena at BATTLE OF THE BELTS X, going  9-0 in that time frame, and she also added several trips to Mexico for CMLL to her resume during 2024. Red's already had three hard-fought title defenses during her reign thus far, and she's about to add another one to the list; the only question is if she'll leave Hammerstein Ballroom with the title tonight as she did at FINAL BATTLE 2024? PROVING GROUND MATCH... ROH World TV Champion Komander vs. QT Marshall Last week during ROH ON HONOR CLUB, newly crowned ROH World TV Champion Komander put his title on the line against a very game Johnny TV. The high-flying luchador was able to retain his hold on the championship despite the fight Mr. TV Ready gave him, but Komander is not resting on the laurels of that victory! Tonight he gets right back into the fight, this time with Proving Ground action as he welcomes the challenge QT Marshall! Now Komander has been on the Proving Grounds a few times trying to earn ROH World Tag Title shots, but this will be his first as the champion trying to rebuke a potential challenge. It's also the first time QT has ever set foot on the Proving Ground, as well as the first dance between he and Komander, so this is going to be quite the interesting test for both champion and challenger. All QT Marshall has to do is last the ten minute time limit or beat Komander in order to earn a future World TV Title match; can he pull it off when honor takes Manhattan? TAG TEAM BOUT... “The Notorious 187” Homicide & Rocky Romero vs. Action Andretti  & Lio Rush Last week former ROH World Champion Homicide returned home to Ring of Honor, marking his first bout in four years for the promotion he helped build from the ground up, and he did so in support of one of his oldest allies: Rocky “Azucar” Romero! There's is a history dating back to 2004 when Romero, along with tag partner Ricky Reyes, made a huge impact in their debut versus The Briscoes at REBORN: STAGE ONE and then went on to join Homicide's Rottweilers unit. Though the opportunities for the two of them to compete strictly as a tag team were rare, they didn't prevent them from looking like a well-oiled machine last week in their victory over QT Marshall and Aaron Solo. Tonight they are right back in action, this time against AEW's top contenders to the World Tag Titles held by Private Party, Action Andretti and Lio Rush! This Saturday on COLLISON Lio and Andretti will get their shot at the gold, but first they've got to survive a run against the reunited Rottweilers! Will Homicide's homecoming continue to be a successful one, or will AEW's #1 Contenders add some more momentum to their impending championship opportunity? 8-MAN TAG BOUT... Shane Taylor Promotions (ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty, Capt. Shawn Dean, Carlie Bravo, & Shane Taylor) vs. Dark Order (Alex Reynolds & Evil Uno) and Iron Savages (Boulder & Bronson) Shane Taylor Promotions already has one title under their umbrella with ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty, but they aim to make 2025 the year where they take over all the titles in Ring of Honor. More than that, the members of STP want to impress upon the wrestling world that they are a dominant force in the game and that begins tonight as they compete as a 4-Man unit for the first time since The Infantry signed on for duty! Though they are also facing a foursome in Dark Order and Iron Savages who've never united before tonight, at least STP are all on the same page and operating with the same mission. Alex Reynolds, Evil Uno, Bronson, and Boulder could not be more different and in fact every time they've shared the ring prior to tonight it has been as opponents. Their only unifying factor is the desire to earn victory to kick off the new year on the right foot, but will that be enough to overcome the unified force of Shane Taylor Promotions? After two previous attempts to claim that title, including as part of FINAL BATTLE 2023's Survival of the Fittest bout, the high-flying sensation finally claimed his first title in Ring of Honor and doesn't aim to let it go any time soon! That being said Komander also aims to be a fighting champion and that is evident tonight during ROH ON HONOR CLUB where, just six days removed from his title victory, Komander welcomes the challenge of Johnny TV! Back on HONOR CLUB #83 Komander scored victory over Mr. TV Ready, and that was before Johnny found himself in this slump he's in, a mental funk so bad Johnny's actually eating carbs, and MxM Collection has desperately been trying to help him. Can Johnny find his way back to the top tonight with a championship victory over the newly crowned Komander, or will this be the beginning of a high-flying era of Honor Club like we've yet to experience? ATHENA ISSUES A MINION EXPULSION MEETING?!? Come hell or high water, “The Forever ROH Champion” Athena seems to find a way to keep the ROH Women's World Title around her waist no matter who her opponent may be. It felt like last Friday night in Hammerstein Ballroom was going to be Billie Starkz' triumphant moment, but Athena found a way to win her 25th title defense and leave Billie emotionally devastated in the center of the ring as her parents watched from ringside.  Given that it was Billie's second time coming for Athena's title in the last 12 months, and all that's taken place between the two of them since July when Billie lost the ROH Women's World TV Title to Red Velvet, it should come as little surprise that Athena announced a Minion Expulsion Meeting for tonight on Honor Club. It's been a long time coming, but it looks like this evening in New York is going to mark a shift in the M.I.T landscape... TAG TEAM BOUT... “Dynamite Kid” Tommy Billington & Katsuyori Shibata vs.  Premier Athletes (Ariya Daivari & Tony Nese) At FINAL BATTLE 2024 “Dynamite Kid” Tommy Billington made his ROH debut, as well as return to the United States for the first time in 17 months, to face off with “The Wrestler” Katsuyori Shibata! Billington was unsuccessful in his attempt to hand Shibata his first ROH loss of 2024, but what he did do was earn Shibata's respect and a spot at his side in this tag team battle tonight in NYC!
