  • New ROH World Tag Team Champs Crowned In London

ROH World Tag Team Championship Match! Aussie Open (c.)—Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis vs. Better Than You BayBay—AEW World Champion MJF & Adam Cole! Aussie Open blindsided Cole and MJF at the start of the match. They bashed Cole and MJF with the collider outside the ring! Davis planted MJF and splashed him for a two count. Fletcher whipped Cole into the steel guardrail. MJF was looking for the kangaroo kick, but Davis clipped him from behind. Cole made the tag and kicked Davis in the jaw, and then dished one out to Fletcher. Fletcher charged at Cole and Cole superkicked him. MJF and Cole went for the double clothesline, but Davis pulled Fletcher out of the ring. Aussie Open pulled out Cole and swarmed him before MJF could do his dive. Aussie Open nailed MJF with the Aussie Arrow for a near fall. MJF connected with the kangaroo kick on Aussie Open! MJF and Cole hit the double clothesline on Kyle Fletcher and Cole pinned Fletcher! Your new ROH World Tag Team Champions...Better Than You BayBay!

  • The ROH World Tag Team Titles Are On The Line At Zero Hour: All In London

ROH World Tag Team Championship Match... Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis) (c) vs. Adam Cole & MJF Suffice to say that the main event of ALL IN: LONDON is going to be greatly affected by the events of the ZERO HOUR beginning at 12pm ET/9am PT on AEW's official YouTube channel. Adam Cole, having never won the ROH World Tag Team Championship, and MJF, having never competed in anything involving Ring of Honor, will challenge the defending ROH World Tag Team Champs Aussie Open ahead of their fight over the AEW World Championship later in the night! Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis, after capturing the titles at ROH's DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR 2023 pay-per-view event, have successfully defended the championship on four occasions, including this past Wednesday on DYNAMITE against The Hardys. They are on quite the roll since their July title victory, but face incredibly tough competition in MJF and Cole who, although relatively new to tag team competition, were victorious in the Blind Eliminator Tag Tournament, and gave FTR a tremendous fight in the AEW World Tag Team Championship loss a few weeks back. Amazingly enough, even with their AEW World Title fight on the horizon, Cole and Friedman have managed to keep their new-found friendship intact. Both men seem intent on maintaining the friendship, despite the protestations of Cole's long-time friend Roderick Strong, the seeming impossibility that MJF can be trusted at all, and the championship fight coming just a few hours after this tag team title bout. Can Aussie Open use the circumstances of the evening to their advantage and retain the ROH World Tag Team Titles? Or will the bromance of Cole and MJF lead to success as a team just before the biggest fight of both men's careers? And if the match plays out in the favor of Aussie Open, how will that affect the AEW World Championship Match, as well as the relationship between championship and challenger? In the history of the ZERO HOUR/BUY-IN, this is the most important match that's ever taken place, but will it be Aussie Open or MJF/Cole who history remembers as the victor?

  • ROH on HonorClub Preview for August 17, 2023

Last week, we witnessed former ROH World TV Champion Shane Taylor defeat Gravity in the Eliminator Tournament to earn a shot at Samoa Joe, and saw Josh Woods walk away from The Varsity Athletes. Plus, Billie Starkz topped Robyn Renegade only to fall victim to an attack from her sister Charlette, and Maria Kanellis-Bennett continued to scout the talent around the Ring of Honor landscape! This Thursday night at 7pm ET/6pm CT, exclusively on Honor Club, Samoa Joe teams with Stokely Hathaway to fight The Boys, Charlette Renegade and Billie Starkz lock horns, Josh Woods and Silas Young fight under Pure Rules, and so much more is going down on Honor Club! TAG TEAM MATCH... ROH World TV Champion Samoa Joe & Stokely Hathaway vs. The Boys (Brandon & Brent Tate) It seems ROH World Television Champion Samoa Joe is having a little fun playing with Stokely Hathway's emotions by inserting the ROH Board of Directors member into a match. Yes, that is correct, Stokely may have the power on paper, but it is Joe who called the shots here and Big Stoke had little option but to go along with Joe's decision. That is why this Thursday night, with Joe as his partner, Stokely Hathaway will fight inside a ROH ring for the first time since 2015! Now Stoke has had the training, yet aside from his two bouts in AEW with The Firm, he hasn't really competed since 2019, but this is something which Samoa Joe has to be keenly aware of, yet doesn't really care. This feels more like the ROH World TV Champion knowing he can handle The Boys himself, so he's just enjoying messing with Stokely in the process. Now Dalton Castle, given his desire to fight Samoa Joe once again, will no doubt be keenly paying attention to this fight, regardless of what his night may bring him. Will Joe's bit of fun at Stokely's expense backfire on him and lead to one of The Boys biggest victory ever as a team? And will the fact that is Shane Taylor waiting in the wings for Joe and his ROH World Television Championship opportunity play a factor? SINGLES MATCH... Billie Starkz vs. Charlette Renegade Suffice to say Billie Starkz has not made friends of The Renegade Twins since she came onto the Ring of Honor landscape. A victory over Robyn led to an assault by both sisters, but strangely enough, it also brought out a surprising assist from the unlikeliest of sources: Whatever that was about, whatever Athena was doing, that remains to be seen, but what we do know is that this week on Honor Club Billie Starkz will have to go head-to-head with the other half of The Renegade sisters, Charlette! Clearly the ladies have no problems using their numbers to gang up on Billie, and clearly they are also sore losers if the bout doesn't go in their favor, so will it be a repeat scenario when the final bell rings? Does Starkz have another pyrrhic victory coming this Thursday, or will she be prepared for another fight after the fight should she get her hand raised? PURE RULES... “The Technical Beast” Josh Woods vs. “The Last Real Man” Silas Young After his ROH Pure Championship loss to Katsuyori Shibata, Josh Woods has made the choice to walk away from group training, the Varsity Athletes, and walk his own path once again. This doesn't mean he's leaving “Smart” Mark Sterling behind, just that he intends to be his own man rather than in a tag team, and make it his mission to once again become Pure Champion. Sterling has said he supports the choice, and as such would line up some proper competition for “The Technical Beast”, and that begins this Thursday evening with a man quite familiar with what Woods brings to the table, “The Last Real Man” Silas Young! Young and Woods have been both friend and foe, Silas even challenged Josh for the Pure Title during his reign, so between that, a Last Man Standing fight at DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR 2021, and a 30 Minute Time Limit Pure Wrestling bout on ROH WRESTLING #507, Woods holds three consecutive victories over his former partner. Will Josh make it four in a row as he begins this solo quest in earnest, or can the former 2-Time ROH World TV Champion shut Woods down right out of the gate? PROVING GROUND MATCH... ROH Women's World Champion Athena vs. Brittany J The roll “The Fallen Goddess” Athena is on continues unabated as she heads into another Thursday night with an unblemished record in Ring of Honor competition! Thirty-five straight victories is unquestionably the best record of any competitor in the new era of honor, and likely the best streak in the history of ROH as a whole. Even Samoa Joe's historic ROH career began with multiple losses before he claimed the World Title from Xavier, and saw him on the losing end of several matches before his title reign was over, but at no point did that legend go 35 consecutive matches without a loss. Athena is on a remarkable run, and she aims to continue it this weekend when she invites Brittany J onto the Proving Ground for her Ring of Honor debut! Brittany has fought a handful of times in AEW, but this is her first ever ROH match, and what an opportunity is being presented. Just last ten minutes with the champions, and a future title match will be hers; Brittany doesn't even have to defeat Athena to get a shot, just survive, but thus far no one competing on the Proving Ground has done that with “The Fallen Goddess”. Can Brittany J be the first? ALSO FEATURING: -Trish Adora vs. Lady Frost -Leyla Hirsch in action -And more!! Ring of Honor is back with an all-new ROH ON HONOR CLUB this Thursday night at 7pm ET/6pm CT as ROH World TV Champion Samoa Joe teams with Stokely Hathaway of all people to take on The Boys! Plus, after walking away from the Varsity Athletes, Josh Woods is taking on former partner Silas Young in a Pure Rules match, and Billie Starkz takes on Charlette Renegade! That, and plenty more, comes your way this Thursday night. Honor Club is the destination for more than 20 years of ROH history, featuring the WEEK IN HISTORY playlist that is updated every Monday, as well as the exploits of Samoa Joe, Josh Woods, Kyle O'Reilly, CM Punk, Sara Del Rey, Dalton Castle, Great Muta, Naomichi Marufuji, and more!!

  • ROH on HonorClub Preview for August 10, 2023

Last week fans saw the field of the ROH World TV Title Eliminator Tournament whittled down to two men: former champion Shane Taylor and Lucha sensation Gravity! Plus, Athena defeated Diamante in their ROH Women's World Championship bout, Shibata retained his Pure Championship against Josh Woods, and Aussie Open retained their ROH World Tag Titles against The Iron Savages! Plus Maria Kanellis-Bennett seemed to be keeping her eye on several talents on the card, and Dalton Castle took up issue with Stokely Hathaway regarding his DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR 2023 with Samoa Joe. This Thursday night at 7pm ET/6pm CT, exclusively on Honor Club, the ROH Women's World Champion will be in action, the Finals of the ROH World TV Title Eliminator Tournament go down between Shane Taylor and Gravity, Dalton Castle battles Slim J, and more! ROH WORLD TV CHAMPIONSHIP ELIMINATOR TOURNAMENT FINALS... Shane Taylor vs. Gravity One man, Shane Taylor, is a former ROH World Television Champion, one of the most dominant to hold the title, and very deserving of being in consideration as the greatest to wear the crown. The other is Gravity, a man very new to the ROH landscape, who was 1-1 in ROH competition prior to the Eliminator Tournament, but who now can add victories over Anthony Henry and Tony Nese to his resume. They could not be two more different athletes, but each is world class in their own right, and even have a bit of connective tissue with Shane Taylor having battled Gravity's brother, former ROH World Champion Bandido, several years ago in Ring of Honor. They were 1-1 in singles matches, while Shane Taylor Promotions defeated Bandido's MexiSquad to claim the ROH World Six Man Titles, and topped them in a rematch several months later as well. But that was then, and that was a different man, this is about now and about who wants that ROH World Television Championship fight with Samoa Joe more! Gravity has already felt the wrath of Joe, getting crushed by him on the July 29th COLLISION in just over two minutes, and would love to make up for that embarrassing loss. As for Shane Taylor, he may have been the most dominant man to hold that belt prior to Samoa Joe's current reign, and after hearing comparisons between the two many times over the years, Taylor would love to test himself against the ROH Legend. Will it be Gravity who gets a second chance at fighting the ROH World Television Champion, or will it be Shane Taylor who gets a chance to not only become a 2-Time World TV Champ, but also to fight Samoa Joe for the first time? Be sure to catch ROH ON HONOR CLUB this Thursday night to see how this tournament plays out! ONE-ON-ONE... Dalton Castle vs. Slim J Clearly there are issues between Dalton Castle and Stokely Hathaway based on how the ROH Board of Directors member conducted business at DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR 2023, and how Stoke played a part in possibly deciding the outcome of the match by succumbing to Joe's threats. Castle feels that's why he was left out of the Eliminator Tournament, and was instead involved with The Trustbusters during the first night of the tournament, and Zack Clayton last week during the Semi-Finals. Well now Castle knows he'll have some involvement with the ROH World TV Champion next week, or rather, his Boys will when they take on Joe and Stokley in a tag team match on the August 16th edition of ROH ON HONOR CLUB! As for this week, Castle will have to deal with some fallout from their July 27th Trios bout with Slim J, Sonny Kiss, and Jeeves Kay. Obviously unhappy with that loss, Slim J is going one-on-one with the former ROH World Champion this Thursday night on Honor Club! Obviously the rest of the Trustbusters getting involved will be a concern for Castle, so thankfully The Tate Twins will be there to balance the equation, but with Samoa Joe and Stokely Hathaway weighing so heavily on his mind, can Dalton Castle stay focused on the task at hand? PLUS: -Robyn Renegade vs. Billie Starkz -ROH Women's World Champion Athena in action! -Gates of Agony vs. The Workhorsemen -Pat Buck vs. Tony Nese -Cole Karter vs. Rhett Titus -The unbeaten Leyla Hirsch looks to continue her dominance! Ring of Honor returns with an all-new ROH ON HONOR CLUB this Thursday night at 7pm ET/6pm CT with the finals of the ROH World TV Title Eliminator Tournament pitting Shane Taylor against Gravity with the right to face Samoa Joe hanging in the balance! Plus Dalton Castle takes on The Trustbusters' Slim J, Billie Starks battles Robyn Renegade, and ROH Women's World Champion Athena, after her victory over Diamante last week, will once again be in action! Honor Club is your home for more than 20 years of Ring of Honor, including the WEEK IN HISTORY playlist that is updated every Monday, as well as action featuring Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly, The Young Bucks, Shane Taylor, Bryan Danielson, Rok-C, Daizee Haze, The Briscoes, KENTA, and so many others who've helped shape the last two decades of professional wrestling around the world!

  • ROH on HonorClub Preview for August 3, 2023

Last week fans witnessed the beginning of the ROH World TV Title Eliminator Tournament as eight men vied for the next shot at Samoa Joe! This Thursday night at 7pm ET/6pm CT, exclusively on Honor Club, the ROH Women's World Championship will be on the line when Athena faces Diamante, the ROH Pure Championship will be at stake between Katsuyori Shibata and Josh Woods, and the Semi-Final matches in the ROH World TV Title Eliminator Tournament will go down! Plus, Leyla Hirsch will be in action looking to continue her dominance since returning from injury, and plenty more when Ring of Honor is back in action this Thursday on Honor Club! ROH WORLD TV TITLE ELIMINATOR TOURNAMENT SEMI-FINALS... Shane Taylor vs. “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels These men are both former ROH World Television Champions, one who has faced Samoa Joe many times before and the other who has never set foot in the ring with the ROH Legend, and both have designs on reclaiming the championship for a second time. For “The Fallen Angel”, it has been a dozen years since he last held the crown, defeating Eddie Edwards on December 10, 2010 to claim it and losing it to El Generico at June 26, 2011's BEST IN THE WORLD 2011 event. On the May 4th edition of Honor Club, Daniels stepped up to Joe for the first time in eight years to challenge for the Television Championship, and was dispatched in just under six minutes, leaving the ROH Grand Slam champion frustrated but hungry to get one more opportunity. As for Shane Taylor, he first claimed the ROH World Television Championship on May 9, 2019 at WAR OF THE WORLDS 2019: NIGHT 2, defeating Brody King, Hirooki Goto, and defending champion Jeff Cobb to become champion. The reign lasted 218 days until Dragon Lee ended the run at FINAL BATTLE 2019, and over the course of his time as champion, Shane Taylor would prove quite the successful champion, defending 12 times in both the United States and United Kingdom, and putting himself in the conversation as greatest TV champion of all-time. After his loss to Dragon Lee, Shane Taylor never had an opportunity to reclaim the title prior to this tournament, but now he's just two wins away from having that shot. There is little history between these two men prior to this battle, mutual participation in a Tag Team Gauntlet back in 2016, Taylor teaming with SCU to take on the BULLET CLUB in 2018, and a Six Man Contender's Gauntlet a few months later in 2018. This bout on Thursday marks their first singles encounter, and the stakes would only be higher if the championship was on the line! ROH WORLD TV TITLE ELIMINATOR TOURNAMENT SEMI-FINALS... Gravity vs. Tony Nese One of the newest faces on the ROH scene, Gravity only recently had his first fight between the Ring of Honor ropes when he lost to Rey Fenix back in June. Rebounding from that with a victory over Komander at DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR 2023, the luchador would also take down Anthony Henry in the Quarter-Finals of this tournament, but then two days later on COLLISION would get a taste of what his future could look like at the end of this tournament. On the July 29th COLLISION, Gravity would be dispatched by Samoa Joe in just over two minutes, sending the young man a message about what could be in store if he wins this tournament. Still, Gravity remains undaunted at the prospect of a rematch with the ROH Legend, and aims to push onto the finals, be it against Christopher Daniels or Shane Taylor. All he has to do is make it past Tony Nese, and thus “Smart” Mark Sterling's involvement as well. Nese, having bested ROH stalwart Cheeseburger in the Quarter-Finals, is looking to score his first ROH championship opportunity since losing to Wheeler Yuta in a Pure bout on the June 28, 2022 edition of AEW DARK, and win his first ROH Championship in the process. Much like his foe this Thursday, Nese has also felt the wrath of Joe, albeit in tag team competition rather than in a singles match, but the outcome last only a few seconds longer than Gravity's. But one step at a time; first, Nese and Gravity have to worry about one another, then the finals, before even letting Joe creep into their minds. Which man will take that next step to the Finals? ROH PURE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH... Katsuyori Shibata vs. Josh Woods For 201 days “The Technical Beast” Josh Woods reigned as ROH Pure Champion after defeating Jonathan Gresham at DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR 2021, and successfully defending it seven times during the most uncertain era of ROH's history as four of those fights took place outside the auspices of Ring of Honor. At SUPERCARD OF HONOR 2022, Wheeler Yuta unseated Woods from his position atop the division and Josh was unable to regain the title in their subsequent rematch on on the May 17, 2022 edition of AEW DARK. In the months since, Woods has unsuccessfully tried to capture both the ROH World Championship as well as the World Television Championship, but over the last several weeks has renewed his focus on the Pure Division, leading to three consecutive victories under Pure Rules, all with the intent of facing Shibata for the crown. Well this Thursday “The Technical Beast” gets his wish because, as heard in the clip embedded above, Shibata has accepted the challenge of the former Pure Champion! With a victory, Woods can join Yuta's name in the record books as a 2-Time Pure Champion, but he's got a tremendous mountain to climb in the form of “The Wrestler”! Since returning to competition, and most importantly since becoming Pure Champion, Shibata has looked better than ever and no matter how hard he gets pushed, no matter who is doing the pushing, he has not looked at all like he's ready to break. Daniel Garcia, Lee Moriarty, Alex Coughlin, and Christopher Daniels; not one of them has been able to keep Shibata down for the three count or put him in a position to submit. Can Woods be the one to end this run, or will he be put to sleep like those challengers who preceded him? ROH WOMEN'S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH... “The Fallen Goddess” Athena(c) vs. Diamante She's won five of her seven matches in Ring of Honor, including victories over Trish Adora and Leila Grey, and now Diamante will step up to the plate against the unbeaten “Fallen Goddess” Athena with the ROH Women's World Championship at stake! Over the course of thirty-four matches revolving around Ring of Honor, Athena has yet to be beaten, and has turned away 12 challenges to her throne in the process, including Willow Nightingale in one of the best matches in ROH history at DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR 2023. Now Diamante will attempt to be the one to attempt to end this historical reign on Thursday night's edition of ROH ON HONOR CLUB, and even the score from her loss to Athena on the 11/8/22 edition of AEW DARK. If Diamante can be the first won to defeat Athena in ROH competition, not only will she become the new ROH Women's World Champion, but her stock in professional wrestling as a whole will absolutely skyrocket. “The Fallen Goddess” has, in many ways, been the bedrock of this new era of honor, and whoever manages to beat her first is going to make headlines! ALSO FEATURING: -El Hijo Del Vikingo & Komander (w/ Alex Abrahantes) vs. The Workhorsemen -Dalton Castle vs. “The Reality” Zack Clayton -Robyn Renegade in action! -Leyla Hirsch! Ring of Honor returns with an all-new ROH ON HONOR CLUB this Thursday night at 7pm ET/6pm CT with ROH Pure Champion Katsuyori Shibata defending his title against “The Technical Beast” Josh Woods, ROH Women's World Champion Athena defending her title against Diamante, and the Semi-Final matches in the ROH World TV Championship Eliminator Tournament taking place! Plus Leyla Hirsch will be in action, looking to continue her dominance here in ROH since returning to action, and so much more on tap for Honor Club! Honor Club is the place for over 20 years of Ring of Honor, including the WEEK IN HISTORY playlist updated every Monday, as well as 20-plus years of the greatest pound-for-pound wrestling on the planet! It's the home for the history of competitors like Bryan Danielson, Jay & Mark Briscoe, Sara Del Rey, Lacey, BULLET CLUB, as well as so many others who've shaped the last two decades of professional wrestling!

  • ROH on HonorClub Preview for July 27, 2023

DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR 2023 followed in the tradition of Ring of Honor pay-per-view for the last two years, and offered up one of the greatest professional wrestling spectacles available in the world! Athena and Willow Nightingale's ROH Women's World Championship match absolutely stole the show in the main event, but PAC challenging Claudio Castagnoli for the ROH World Championship, the Four Way ROH World Tag Championship bout, the ROH Pure Title fight, and pretty much everything from ZERO HOUR until completion rank among the best fights seen in the new era of honor! Well the fallout from DBD '23 begins this Thursday night at 7pm ET/6pm CT, exclusively on Honor Club, when the ROH Women's World Champion gets right back to work on The Proving Ground, the ROH World Six-Man Champions The Mogul Embassy defend their titles in an Open Challenge, Josh Woods continues his push towards being the next Pure Championship contender, Leyla Hirsch, and so much more! -ROH WORLD SIX-MAN CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: THE MOGUL EMBASSY (BISHOP KAUN, BRIAN CAGE, & TOA LIONA W/ PRINCE NANA) VS. IRON SAVAGES (BOULDER & BRONSON) & JACKED JAMESON Coming off their successful championship defense at DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR 2023, The Mogul Embassy have been challenged by The Iron Savages and Jacked Jameson for this championship contest going down on Thursday! With Jacked Jameson at their side, Boulder and Bronson have transformed their physiques and are ready to collide with the biggest monsters in Ring of Honor, but with this being their first in-ring outing as a trio, The Iron Savages and Jacked Jameson are in for a fight! Cage, Kaun, and Toa have been unstoppable as a trio, and with six successful defenses thus far in their 229-day championship reign, Prince Nana's unit is one of the most successful championship trios in the title's six year history. They hold the fourth longest reign, 66 days behind Shane Taylor Promotion's 295 days, but it's looking more and more like they could top MexiSquad's 405 days at the top unless someone steps up strong! Could The Iron Savages and Jacked Jameson be that trio who shocks the world this Thursday night on Honor Club? It would be a tremendous way to begin their career as a trio, and would automatically declare to the rest of ROH that they are a force to be reckoned with! ALSO FEATURING: -TRISH ADORA! -"LEGIT" LEYLA HIRSCH! -PURE RULES: VARSITY ATHLETES' JOSH WOODS VS. ELI ISOM -PROVING GROUND MATCH: ROH WOMEN'S WORLD CHAMPION ATHENA WELCOMES ANOTHER HOPEFUL CONTENDER -THE UNDEFEATED TEAM OF LEE MORIARTY & BIG BILL IN ACTION! -DALTON CASTLE & THE BOYS VS. SONNY KISS, SLIM J & JEEVES KAY Ring of Honor returns with an all-new ROH ON HONOR CLUB this Thursday night at 7pm ET/6pm CT with the fallout from DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR 2023, including ROH Women's World Champion Athena on the Proving Ground, Dalton Castle and The Boys in Trios competition, Trish Adora back in the ring, and The Mogul Embassy defending their ROH World Six-Man Championship against The Iron Savages and Jacked Jameson! Honor Club is the place for over 20 years of Ring of Honor, including the WEEK IN HISTORY playlist updated every Monday, the Joe/Punk Trilogy, and loads more content featuring competitors such as CM Punk, Jay & Mark Briscoe, Sara Del Rey, Daizee Haze, Rok-C, and numerous others who have shaped the last two decades of professional wrestling!
