Pro Debut:

1990

For over thirty years, Chris Jericho has traversed the world of professional wrestling honing his craft. From the rings of Canada and the United States to Japan, Mexico, and Germany, Jericho has faced the greatest competitors from all corners of the globe, captured championships everywhere he traveled, and yet even with all that experience, still finds ways to reinvent himself, an ability that has seen Jericho not only outlast his contemporaries, but also helped usher in a new era of professional wrestling over the last several years.

As the very first All Elite Wrestling World Champion, Jericho helped to establish AEW on a worldwide stage, although if you asked him, Jericho would likely take sole responsibility for the growth and success of AEW since 2019. He founded The Inner Circle unit on the very first episode of DYNAMITE, helped innovate matches like Stadium Stampede, the Blood & Guts Cage, and unforgettable Mimosa Mayhem, and has now embraced his ideals of “Sports Entertainer” to take up arms against the sport of professional wrestling. In that mission, "The Ocho" has recruited like-minded men and women in Matt Menard, Angelo Parker, Daniel Garcia, Anna JayA.S., Tay Melo, Sammy Guevara, and Jake Hager to join his Jericho Appreciation Society.

That battle against pro wrestling is what led Chris Jericho to claiming his eight World Title, hence “The Ocho” nickname, when he defeated The Blackpool Combat Club's Claudio Castagnoli at DYNAMITE: GRAND SLAM 2022 to become the 37th ROH World Champion. Since claiming the title as his own, Jericho has made it his mission to desecrate its 20-plus years of history, as well as prove himself the greatest ROH champion that ever existed by beating any competitor who ever held any ROH title.
